This Week at Generation Geek

What’s up, geeks?!

Well, for the service industry, I wrangled the unicorn this weekend…  I actually had a weekend off.  So got to enjoy an actual weekend here in Orlando.  Spent Friday night at the Beebs and the Money Makers CD/comic book release show (got whacked by a hula hoop).  On Saturday night I got some pizza, beer, and hunkered down for an evening of Diablo III.  Haldor the Monk is up to Level 16 and just entering Act II.  Yes, apparently I’m progressing through the game very slowly.  Since it’s currently Sunday morning (breaking the wall, I write most of the GGOrlando posts on Sundays), don’t know what I’m going to try out today.  Think I’m going to indulge my hipster side and go to Stardust for “brunch”.

Anyways, back to being a geek – a Microsoft geek – installed the new Windows 8 Release Preview last week.  I’m guessing the major changes are in the code, as I don’t see much different from the Consumer Preview that came out in March.  Hopefully this one doesn’t bork my computer like the last one did.  Speaking of which, a lot of the changes to the blog that I had been working on were lost when Windows 8 crashed last time, so I was thinking I would have to start from scratch after I did a clean install.  However, after installing the Release Preview, it seemingly has resurrected some of the old data (I don’t know how that’s possible, but am completely cool with it).  Anyways, the new GGOrlando is targeted to arrive around the site’s first anniversary in August.

Well, with all that stuff you don’t overly care about out of the way, here’s what’s happening this week at Generation Geek:

  • Monday: Local Spotlight – Florida Geek Scene
  • Tuesday: New Home Video & Video Game Releases feat. Falling Skies: The Complete First Season
  • Wednesday: This Week in Comics feat. Before Watchmen
  • Thursday: Orlando Events Calendar – A Tribute to ALIEN Art Show
  • Friday: GGOrlando Editorial – E3 Wrap-Up
