As a kid of the ‘80s, it’s sad to admit that I pretty much missed the entire Nintendo generation… And Sega… And pretty much everything else. I pretty much went 20 years between consoles, from the Atari 2600 I got in 1981 to the Xbox I got in 2001. Sucks being poor in Daytona.
Anyways, that pity-party of a setup is just to note that I really love the opportunity to take on the classics of yore. And this Saturday, you’ll have the opportunity to meet with other like minded individuals to play some video game classics as Play N Trade – Lake Mary presents Retro Day with the aid of vintage gaming enthusiasts Famicom Flashbacks.
The all-day event will offer tournaments and giveaways for those so inclined. If you’re just a casual fan like myself, the store’s several gaming stations will offer some gaming classics. BTW – If anyone wants to take me on in Asteroids for the 2600, bring it. I can pretty much play until I get bored of it. At Otronicon last year, I just sat there until I rolled the score counter over, just because I f’n could! </humblebrag>
Retro Day at Play N Trade – Lake Mary takes place all day on Saturday, July 28th.
