Local Spotlight – Hurricane Who

Mentioned earlier this year here on the blog, Hurricane Who is a local fangroup dedicated to all things Dr. Who.

The local fangroup hosts the area’s biggest Dr. Who convention, which goes by the name Hurricane Who.  This year’s con, titled Category Three, will take place November 2nd-4th at the Doubletree Orlando at SeaWorld.  The featured guest for this year’s edition will be Peter Davison, who played the Fifth Doctor from 1981-1984.

Besides the convention, the group hosts several more community events around town throughout the year.  Hurricane Who hosts “Pub Nights”, where they watch some Who and throw back a few pints at Orlando-area British pubs.  In addition, they are in the planning stages for a sci-fi themed cruise to set sail in 2013.
