While we wait (…and wait, and wait, and wait) for LucasArts to remake their classic game X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter, you may be wondering if there’s another way to take the role of an intergalactic pilot in a galaxy far, far away. If you’re an early-riser, Sci-Fi City is giving you your chance as they preview the new game Star Wars: X-Wing Miniatures.
Released last month at Indianapolis’s Gencon by Fantasy Flight Games, the game allows players to take the role of a squadron leader of X-Wings or TIE Fighters as you take on scenarios based on the classic battles of the movie series.
This afternoon’s event gives new players a chance to try out the game before next week’s tournament, also being held at Sci-Fi City. And, after reading the rules (or trying to, at least – rulebook is 21 pages long though there’s also a quick-start guide), you may need a chance to feel things out before playing competitively.
Star Wars: X-Wing Miniatures Free-for-All at Sci-Fi City will start at noon (registration starts at 11:30am).
