It has been over a month since UCF students returned to campus. And, now that they’re settled, maybe they’re looking for something to do and find some new friends to hang out with. If you’re a reader of this blog, it’s likely that you are a video game fan. And if you’re at UCF, there’s probably a chance that the groups LANKnights and Console Knights are right up your alley.
The LANKnights, as one might guess by the name, are a PC gaming group based on the UCF campus. Unlike the clubs I belonged to while in college, you don’t have to sit through boring meetings where the minutes from the last boring meeting are read. Instead, you get down with some of the hottest PC games available. The group hosts gaming nights, tournaments, and parties.
But, say you don’t want to blow your student loan money on a massive gaming rig but enjoy gaming on your PlayStation or Xbox. Then you’ll probably want to jump on with the Console Knights. A newer group to the UCF community, they’re looking to organize similar events for the console gamer set.
Both groups, as well as UCF’s Anime group Anime Spot, will be hosting Video Game Knight 2012. More than just an evening, the event will start at noon in the Pegasus Ballroom and will run until midnight. There will be free play as well as tournaments for Starcraft II, Dota 2, and more.
