Featured Release:  Marvel Zombies Halloween #1

Boy, zombies huh…  Never see them in anything.  Yes, I believe I made that joke before here but there is so much stuff with zombies that they have become the horde as they overwhelm pop culture.

You can’t accuse Marvel as merely jumping onto the zombie bandwagon with today’s one-shot special, Marvel Zombies Halloween #1.  The Marvel Zombie franchise has been around since 2005, when it was a special limited series by one Robert Kirkman.

The series occurs in an alternate Marvel Universe, where a zombie outbreak has infected the world, including the superheroes.  Since the original series, Marvel has brought back the horde from Earth 2149 for sequels and one-shots.

While the events in the Marvel Zombies books is often horrific, the series itself leans more towards the comedic than going for scares.  While Marvel hasn’t released many details on this Halloween-themed one-shot, writer Fred Van Lente – who wrote Marvel Zombies 3 with Kev Walker – is intimately familiar with this universe.

Marvel Zombies Halloween #1 devours the competition in stores today.
